In the Sierra Vista Herald and the Bisbee Daily Review, Friday March 11, 2005 on page A16 of the Local section (Vol. 50. No. 156), Miracle Valley received special coverage for its permit for a Charter School.
"Dr. Melvin Harter is up-dating two former classroom buildings for a Charter School. The charter school will be located next to the Miracle Valley Childcare Center.
Playground activities such as baseball, softball, volleyball and track are planned.
School hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Among conditions attached to approval of the application is a requirement to cover parking areas with a 2-inch gravel surface.
A Charter School at Miracle Valley is targeted to start in the Fall 2008. Starting with K-8, high school grades will be added later."
On Wednesday, March 9, 2005, the Cochise County Planning & Zoning Board granted a "special use" permit for a Charter School to be established at Miracle Valley.
