We are excited about the proposed Miracle Valley Charter School for the fall of 2010.
There is a viable need for such a school in our community. We currently have two wonderful public schools in our area; namely, Palominas and Valley View. However, these two schools are completely full and our local area is still growing. The tremendous growth, as well as the growth projected, require an additional school. Since the construction of another public school is impossible at this time, a Charter School needs to be established in the area to meet our community's pressing needs.
Miracle Valley is about meeting needs of our local community. That is why we are excited about Miracle Valley Charter School being available for our local community.
Dr. Harter believes that all the facilities at Miracle Valley should be utilized to their fullness. If all goes according to plan, there will soon be hundreds of people coming and going each day at Miracle Valley. Every empty building will be remodeled and put into good use again.
In the 1960s, there was an active grade school at Miracle Valley. Several buildings were designed and constructed for this very purpose. The buildings consisted of large classrooms and public restrooms. For several years now, these classroom buildings have not been used as they were planned.
Melvin Harter Ministries will lease two classroom buildings to Dawn Education Group, a non-profit incorporation founded by Dr. Harter and Dr. Robinson, which in turn sponsors MIRACLE VALLEY CHARTER SCHOOL.
Plans are set to start grades 1-6 in the fall 2010. Future plans call for a feasible study for a middle school as well as a high school to be constructed at Miracle Valley.
Dawn Education Group is scheduled to go before the Arizona State Board in January 2010 for final approval for its State Charter.
It has not been an easy road. Five years of planning and hard work has gone into this program. It has required literally hundreds of hours of time and much money to get everything to where we are today. Not only does it involved paper work involving the preparation of special educational programs, but there is a tremendous financial obligation as well.
There is no charge or fee for any student attending MIRACLE VALLEY CHARTER SCHOOL. It is absolutely free to everyone.
